Mullein is among the oldest medicinal plants. In ancient times it was shrouded in superstition, but even then was used for bronchial tubes and lungs. For this purpose only and not yet. Releases mucus, mucosal healing, cleans the bronchi in hoarseness and whistling, helps with bronchitis and laryngitis and relieves irritation of the upper respiratory tract. For these reasons, a major component of my tea blends cough. Mullein, however, has other medicinal properties. Great fresh leaves can be used as a poultice for rheumatic and muscular pain, difficult to healing wounds, sores and lumps on, like butterbur.
