Blooms in April-June (for the first time at the age of 15-20 years). The male cones are sulfur-yellow and grow on the basis of herbaceous female pinkish red and can be found individually to three on the ends of branches under the top bud. Ripen in 3-10 cm long, conical ovoid cones two to three years.
