Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is one of the so-called "healthy fats", it belongs to the omega-6 fatty acids. It occurs naturally in the diet, for example in dairy products. Beware, with diet programs with a low intake of animal fats, which is typically a bodybuilding drawing diet, you may suffer from insufficient CLA intake!
The current way of processing meat and dairy products means that the natural incidence of CLA in food is lower, so its supplementation is recommended even in cases where you do not follow a strict diet.
