Aloe Vera is a monocotyledonous, persistent, evergreen, succulent herb with a ground rosette of long pulp and at the edge of sparse leaves. Aloe True has been used for thousands of years as a medicinal plant and its use has spread all over the world. It is a popular herb in healing and home medicine and is a part of many cosmetics.
Aloe provides two different products with different effects and uses, known as gel and latex. Aloe gel is applied externally, especially for burns, minor wounds and abrasions, latex acts internally, inter alia, as a strong laxative. The main active ingredients contained in aloe vera are acemanan polysaccharide and latex glycoside barbaloin. Aloe is also grown as a houseplant.
